Architect – Business Development
Trevor grew up in the rural farming community of Muleshoe, TX. His father retired at 80 as a General Contractor with an Architectural Engineering Degree. Trevor’s leadership skills developed in high school as President of the Student Council & National Honor Society. In 1965 he started working in construction as a framer, carpenter foreman and electrician’s helper. He continued in construction and as an architectural intern through college, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Trevor worked as an intern in two Architecture / Engineering firms whose primary project types included hospitals, secondary and higher educational facilities, and municipal facilities. Because of his construction experience, Trevor became a Project Manager for school district and commercial projects; then moved into Contract Administration for both large and small projects, including Construction Management.
In 1979, he initiated Trevor Ford and Associates, Architects, and shortly after Ford Construction. For 2 years, Trevor taught on the Faculty at Texas Tech University School of Architecture. TFA and Ford Construction developed into a multi-faceted Design-Build firm, serving clientele including Texas Tech University & Medical School, Regional School Districts, Hospitals, Banks, Municipalities, Corporate and Retail entities. Services provided included Architecture, General Construction, Design-Build, Design-Construction Management.
After providing Design-Build services to AT&T for several years, Trevor followed an opportunity into the Telecommunications Industry in the mid-90’s developing a separate telecommunications business. This business focused on Data Networking Design and Integration and Telephone system installation and service, provided regional and national service and installations to businesses including Sprint, Verizon, Cox Communications, Cross Comm, Furrs Cafeterias, Government Telecom Integrators (SSA, FBI, US Attorneys Offices), and numerous regional corporations. TFA Communications premier project for Texas Tech University Medical School installed 5 miles of Fiber Optic Cables through the tunnel network with 800 Fiber Optic Terminations and Splices and 1250 Data Network Cable Drops along with Infrastructure for MDF and IDFs.
In early 2006 Trevor joined JMC and ICON Construction Companies, both 8(a) federal construction companies, as Director of Business Development, marketing to the U.S. Federal Government for both military and non-military projects.
In late 2007, Trevor and Susan started Babco Products and Services representing a selected group of innovative solutions in the construction industry. Primarily, those products include Hi-Tech Tilttm Systems, AISET Air Quality Control Systems, and construction consulting services related to project development.
Professionally and personally, Trevor is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Past President of the Lubbock Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), previous member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), worked on Disaster Relief Teams for the Texas Society of Architects (TSA), served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Lubbock Rotary Club, served on numerous committees in the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, is currently a member and leads the Men’s Bible Study for Family Worship Center in McKinney, TX. Trevor and Susan are blessed with six children and three grandchildren.
Trevor has since become part owner of the Hi-Tech Tilt corporation and is responsible for Business Development and Technical Support for construction projects worldwide.
